Our Strategy
Electronic Trading is a vital part of our overall electronic commerce programme that will enable Valeo and our suppliers to improve efficiency across supply chain and financial systems to our mutual benefit. Valeo expect that all suppliers use EDI or WebEDI.

The Business Benefit
Electronic Trading is a step forward to ensure that Delivery Instructions, Shipping Notifications, Invoices, Credit Notes are being processed quicker and more efficiently. In addition to this benefits electronic trading supports a complete audit trail, which prevents the loss of Deliveries Instructions, Shipping Notifications, Invoices and Credit Notes.

The Business Process
The supply processes of Valeo is based on Automotive practices which is repetitive Delivery Schedule and Shipping. The process relevant informations, documents and their functionalities are explained below. The label management is mandatory. Each shipping notification must describe the packaging with the label identification. The label format can follow ODETTE, GALIA or VDA recommendations.
The current EDI applications of Valeo with its suppliers are essentially based on the recommendations of ODETTE. Messages in EDIFACT format are preferred and implemented worldwide. Depending on region, messages in VDA, GALIA and ANSI X12 formats are available on demand.

WebEDI is an alternative solution for suppliers which are not able to implement a complete EDI solution. Main business processes are supported by our Valeo WebEDI application.
In order to improve efficiency, quality and speed across purchasing, supply chain and financial systems with all suppliers, Valeo has decided to globalise and speed up the deployment of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) with its suppliers. Significant savings for both sides are expected therefore on administrative tasks, shipping and reception processes. Communicating with the entire supplier community via electronic data interchange (EDI) is one of the major short term goals of Valeo. The suppliers have the choice between classic EDI and WebEDI.
